Muhammad ibn Salam narrated to us: Marwan ibn Mu‘awiya al-Fazari informed us, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad ibn An‘um, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Rafi‘ al-Tanukhi, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would often supplicate: ‘O Allah, I ask You for well-being, chastity, trustworthiness, good character, and contentment with the decree.’

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The supplication lists five requested qualities or blessings. ‘Well-being’ conveys الصحة more broadly than medical health alone.
