حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ بَابَنُوسَ قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، مَا كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ خُلُقُهُ الْقُرْآنَ، تَقْرَؤُونَ سُورَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ؟ قَالَتِ: اقْرَأْ: {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ}، قَالَ يَزِيدُ: فَقَرَأْتُ: {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ} إِلَى {لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ}، قَالَتْ: هَكَذَا كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

‘Abd al-Salam narrated to us: Ja‘far narrated to us, from Abu ‘Imran, from Yazid ibn Babanus, who said: We went to ‘A’isha and asked, ‘Mother of the Believers, what was the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like?’ She said, ‘His character was the Qur’an. Do you recite Surat al-Mu’minun?’ She said, ‘Read: “Successful indeed are the believers.”’ Yazid said: I recited, ‘“Successful indeed are the believers” through to “those who guard their private parts.”’ She said, ‘That is what the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was like.’

The Arabic quotes the beginning and endpoint of the recitation, not the intervening verses. The English witness supplies the full wording of Qur’an 23:1–5, which is not reproduced in this Arabic report.
فَقَرَأْتُ: {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ} إِلَى {لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ}
The source reports only the opening and endpoint of the recitation; the witness inserts the full intervening verses.
