Ibrahim ibn Marzuq al-Thaqafi said: My father told me—and he had belonged to Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, from whom al-Hajjaj took him—that Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr sent me to his mother, Asma bint Abi Bakr, to tell her how al-Hajjaj was treating them. She prayed for me and stroked my head. At that time, I was a young boy.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The wording of the chain’s parenthetical biographical detail is compressed; it says the narrator’s father belonged to Ibn al-Zubayr and al-Hajjaj took him from him.
