حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَبِي الرَّوَّاعِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ رَجُلاً كَانَ عِنْدَهُ، وَلَهُ بَنَاتٌ فَتَمَنَّى مَوْتَهُنَّ، فَغَضِبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ: أَنْتَ تَرْزُقُهُنَّ؟.

‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from ‘Uthman ibn al-Harith Abu al-Rawwa‘, from Ibn ‘Umar: A man was with him, and the man had daughters and wished for their death. Ibn ‘Umar became angry and said: “Are you the one who provides for them?”
