‘Umar ibn ‘Uthman ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa‘id al-Makhzumi said: My grandfather told me, from his father—whose name was as-Sarm—that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, renamed him Sa‘id. He said: “I saw ‘Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, reclining in the mosque.”
