Musaddad related to us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa‘id related to us, from Zakariyya, who said: ‘Amir related to me, from ‘Abdullah ibn Muti‘, who said: I heard Muti‘ say: I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say on the day of the conquest of Mecca: “After this day, no Qurashi is to be put to death in captivity until the Day of Resurrection.” None of the rebels of Quraysh except Muti‘ reached Islam. His name had been al-‘As, and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, named him Muti‘.
