حَدَّثَنَا يَسَرَةُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أُمِّي تُوُفِّيَتْ وَلَمْ تُوصِ، أَفَيَنْفَعُهَا أَنْ أَتَصَدَّقَ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.

Yasara ibn Safwan narrated to us. He said: Muhammad ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Amr, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas: A man said, 'Messenger of Allah, my mother died without leaving a will. Will it benefit her if I give charity on her behalf?' He replied, 'Yes.'
