حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَرَجُلٌ يَمَانِيٌّ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ، حَمَلَ أُمَّهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ، يَقُولُ: إِنِّي لَهَا بَعِيرُهَا الْمُذَلَّلُ إِنْ أُذْعِرَتْ رِكَابُهَا لَمْ أُذْعَرِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَتُرَانِي جَزَيْتُهَا؟ قَالَ: لاَ، وَلاَ بِزَفْرَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، ثُمَّ طَافَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، فَأَتَى الْمَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا ابْنَ أَبِي مُوسَى، إِنَّ كُلَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ تُكَفِّرَانِ مَا أَمَامَهُمَا.

Adam narrated to us. He said: Shu'bah narrated to us. He said: Sa'id ibn Abi Burdah narrated to us. He said: I heard my father relate that he witnessed Ibn 'Umar and a Yemeni man circumambulating the House. The man was carrying his mother on his back and saying: “I am for her a docile camel; if her mounts are startled, I am not startled.” Then he said: “Ibn 'Umar, do you think I have repaid her?” He said: “No, not even for one groan.” Then Ibn 'Umar circumambulated, came to the Station, and prayed two rak'ahs. Then he said: “O son of Abu Musa, every two rak'ahs expiate what came before them.”

The English witness stops after Ibn 'Umar says the man has not repaid his mother even for one groan. The Arabic continues with Ibn 'Umar's circumambulation, two rak'ahs at the Station, and a statement about their expiating what came before.
