‘Abd Allah related to us: ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Abi Salamah informed me, from Hisham, from his father, from ‘A’ishah: The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to send my companions to me, and they would play with dolls—little girls’ toys.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The source clarifies اللعب as dolls/toys for little girls; the wording is preserved without expanding the report beyond that gloss.
