Book 55, Hadith 6
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: إِيَّاكُمْ وَ الظَّنَّ، فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ، وَلاَ تَجَسَّسُوا، وَلاَ تَنَافَسُوا، وَلاَ تَدَابَرُوا، وَلاَ تَحَاسَدُوا، وَلاَ تَبَاغَضُوا، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللهِ إِخْوَانًا.

Isma‘il related to us: Malik related to me, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A‘raj, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: ‘Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the most false kind of speech. Do not spy on one another, do not vie with one another, do not turn your backs on one another, do not envy one another, and do not hate one another. Be servants of Allah and brothers.’
