Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 945

Muhammad ibn ‘Ar‘ara related to us, saying: Shu‘ba related to us, from Sa‘d ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Umama ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, that some people submitted to the judgment of Sa‘d ibn Mu‘adh. He sent for him, and Sa‘d came riding a donkey. When he drew near the mosque, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Go to the best of you”—or he said, “your chief.” He said: “Sa‘d, these people have submitted to your judgment.” Sa‘d said: “I judge that their fighting men be killed and their offspring taken captive.” The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “You have judged according to Allah’s judgment”—or he said, “the judgment of the King.”

The Arabic says only that some people submitted to Sa‘d’s judgment; the witness adds an identification as Jews of Banu Quraysh, which is not present in this excerpt.
Should the added group identification be kept outside the translation as contextual annotation?
