Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: مَا كَانَ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ رُؤْيَةً مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا إِلَيْهِ، لِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ.

Musa ibn Isma‘il related to us, saying: Hammad ibn Salama related to us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said: No one was dearer to them to look upon than the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Yet when they saw him, they did not stand up for him, because they knew he disliked that.
