Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ، فَلاَ تَبْدَأُوهُمْ بِالسَّلاَمِ، وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهَا.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “When you meet the polytheists on the road, do not be the first to offer them the greeting of peace, and make them take its narrowest part.”
