Musa ibn Isma‘il narrated to us, saying: Abu ‘Awanah narrated to us, from ‘Uthman ibn al-Mughirah, from Abu al-‘Anbas, who said: I visited ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr at al-Waht—that is, land of his in al-Ta’if. He said: The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, bent his finger toward us and said, “Kinship is a branch from al-Rahman. Whoever maintains it, He maintains connection with him; and whoever severs it, He severs him. It will have a fluent, eloquent tongue on the Day of Resurrection.”

شُجْنَةٌ is an image of a branch or intertwined offshoot, while the witness renders it as a relation/derivation.
Should the image be retained as ‘branch’ or rendered more explicitly as an offshoot/connection?
