‘Affan narrated to us; Hammam narrated to us; Qatadah narrated to us; Abu al-‘Aliyah narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Men whose testimony was accepted narrated to me, among them ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him. ‘Affan once said: Men whose testimony was accepted testified before me, and the one I most approved of among them was ‘Umar: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘There is no prayer after two prayers: after Fajr until the sun rises, and after ‘Asr until the sun sets.’ ‘Affan narrated to us; Aban narrated to us; Qatadah narrated to us, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, with a similar report: ‘Men whose testimony was accepted testified before me.’
