Yazid narrated to us; Daylam ibn Ghazwan al-‘Abdi narrated to us; Maymun al-Kurdi narrated to us, from Abu ‘Uthman al-Nahdi, who said: I was sitting beneath ‘Umar’s pulpit while he was addressing the people. In his sermon he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: ‘The thing I fear most for this community is every hypocrite who is eloquent in speech.’
