‘Abd al-Samad narrated to us; Harb narrated to us; Yahya narrated to us, from ‘Imran ibn Hittan—according to Harb’s supposition, he said: He asked Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, about wearing silk. Ibn ‘Abbas said, ‘Ask ‘A’ishah about it.’ He asked ‘A’ishah, and she said, ‘Ask Ibn ‘Umar.’ He asked Ibn ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and he said, ‘Abu Hafs related to me that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever wears silk in this world will have no share of it in the Hereafter.”’
