Musnad Ahmad 337
Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from al-Zuhri, from Malik ibn Aws, who said: ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, sent for me.’ He mentioned the report and said: ‘The property of Banu al-Nadir was among what Allah granted to His Messenger as spoils, for which the Muslims had not spurred horses or camels. He used to provide his family’s maintenance from it for one year, and whatever remained he devoted to cavalry and weapons as equipment in the cause of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.’
