Translation

Isma‘il narrated to us; Ayyub narrated to us, from ‘Ikrimah ibn Khalid, from Malik ibn Aws ibn al-Hadathan, who said: ‘Abbas and ‘Ali, peace be upon them both, came to ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, disputing. ‘Abbas said, ‘Judge between me and this one—[the text here is unclear].’ The people said, ‘Settle the matter between them! Settle the matter between them!’ He said, ‘I will not judge between them. They both know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “We are not inherited from; what we leave is charity.”’
