Translation
Waki‘ narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, that ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, approached the Stone and said: ‘I know that you are a stone; you can neither harm nor benefit. Were it not that I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, kiss you, I would not have kissed you.’ Then he kissed it.
