Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَبَّلَهُ وَالْتَزَمَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِكَ حَفِيًّا يَعْنِي الْحَجَرَ.
Translation
Waki‘ narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-A‘la, from Suwayd ibn Ghafalah: ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, kissed it and embraced it, then said, “I saw Abu al-Qasim, peace and blessings be upon him, being attentive to you”—meaning the Stone.’
