Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ حَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فِي السَّفَرِ.
Translation
Waki‘ narrated to us, from Hasan ibn Salih, from ‘Asim ibn ‘Ubayd Allah, from Salim, from Ibn ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wipe over his leather socks while traveling.’
