Sahih al-Bukhari 152
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدْخُلُ الْخَلاَءَ، فَأَحْمِلُ أَنَا وَغُلاَمٌ إِدَاوَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ، وَعَنَزَةً، يَسْتَنْجِي بِالْمَاءِ. تَابَعَهُ النَّضْرُ وَشَاذَانُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ. الْعَنَزَةُ عَصًا عَلَيْهِ زُجٌّ.
Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Maymunah, who heard Anas ibn Malik say: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to relieve himself, I and a boy would carry a small water vessel and an 'anazah—a short staff tipped with iron. He would clean himself with the water. Al-Nadr and Shadhan corroborated this report from Shu'bah. The 'anazah is a staff with an iron tip.
