Translation
Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) stood up amongst the people and then praised and glorified Allah as He deserved and then he mentioned Ad-Dajjal, saying, "I warn you of him, and there was no prophet but warned his followers of him; but I will tell you something about him which no prophet has told his followers: Ad- Dajjal is one-eyed whereas Allah is not."

The Uniqueness of the Final Warning

The Prophet's (ﷺ) standing position indicates the gravity and importance of this subject matter, as scholars note that standing is reserved for matters of utmost significance requiring full attention.

The opening with praise and glorification of Allah establishes the proper context - all warnings come from divine wisdom and mercy, not mere human concern.

The Continuity of Prophetic Warnings

The mention that every prophet warned their people about Dajjal demonstrates this is a fundamental article of faith across all divine revelations, not specific to Islam alone.

This universal warning indicates Dajjal's trial represents the ultimate test of faith that transcends time and specific religious communities.

The Exclusive Knowledge Granted to Muhammad (ﷺ)

The Prophet's (ﷺ) statement that he will reveal something no previous prophet disclosed shows his unique status as the Seal of Prophets and the completeness of his message.

This exclusive knowledge serves as both a distinguishing mark of his prophethood and an additional mercy to his ummah.

The Theological Significance of Dajjal's One-Eyed Nature

Dajjal's physical description as one-eyed symbolizes his distorted perception of reality - he sees only the material world while being blind to spiritual truths.

The contrast with Allah's perfection ("whereas Allah is not") establishes the fundamental Islamic principle of tawhid - Allah's attributes are perfect and unlike any creation.

This serves as the ultimate criterion for distinguishing truth from falsehood during Dajjal's appearance.
