Sahih al-Bukhari 5563

Mūsā ibn Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Abū ʿAwānah narrated to us, from Firās, from ʿĀmir, from al-Barāʾ, who said: One day the Messenger of God ﷺ prayed and said: “Whoever has prayed our prayer and faced our direction of prayer must not slaughter until he has finished.” Abū Burdah ibn Niyār stood up and said, “Messenger of God, I have already done so.” He said: “You were simply too early.” He said, “I have a jadhaʿah that is better than two mature animals. Shall I slaughter it?” He said: “Yes, but it will not suffice for anyone after you.” ʿĀmir said: “It was the best of his sacrificial animals.”
