Sahih al-Bukhari 640
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَسَوَّى النَّاسُ صُفُوفَهُمْ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَتَقَدَّمَ وَهْوَ جُنُبٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ " عَلَى مَكَانِكُمْ ". فَرَجَعَ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ مَاءً فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ.

Ishaq narrated to us: Muhammad bin Yusuf narrated to us: al-Awza‘i narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salama bin ‘Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Huraira, who said: The prayer was commenced and the people straightened their rows. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and stepped forward while in a state of major ritual impurity. Then he said, ‘Stay where you are.’ He went back and bathed. He came out with water dripping from his head and led them in prayer.
