Sahih al-Bukhari 2722
Malik ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Ibn ʿUyayna narrated to us; Yahya ibn Saʿid narrated to us, who said: I heard Hanzala al-Zuraqi say: I heard Rafiʿ ibn Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) say: We, the Ansar, had the most fields, and we used to lease land. Sometimes one part yielded crops while another part yielded none. We were forbidden to do that, but we were not forbidden to lease it for silver (money).
