Sahih al-Bukhari 6609
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَأْتِي ابْنَ آدَمَ النَّذْرُ بِشَىْءٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ قَدَّرْتُهُ، وَلَكِنْ يُلْقِيهِ الْقَدَرُ وَقَدْ قَدَّرْتُهُ لَهُ، أَسْتَخْرِجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ ".
Bishr ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Abdullah informed us; Ma'mar informed us, from Hammam ibn Munabbih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: ‘A vow does not bring the son of Adam anything that I had not already decreed for him. Rather, destiny brings it to him, when I had already decreed it for him; through it, I extract something from the miser.’
