Sahih al-Bukhari 1045
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلاَّمِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلاَّمٍ الْحَبَشِيُّ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ لَمَّا كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نُودِيَ إِنَّ الصَّلاَةَ جَامِعَةٌ.
Ishaq said: Yahya ibn Salih informed us; he said: Mu‘awiyah ibn Sallam ibn Abi Sallam al-Habashi al-Dimashqi narrated to us; he said: Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us; he said: Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Awf al-Zuhri informed me, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: When the sun was eclipsed during the Messenger of Allah’s lifetime, a call was made: ‘The prayer is to be offered in congregation.’
