Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي، وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي ". تَابَعَهُ عُقَيْلٌ.
Translation
Abdan narrated to us: Abdullah informed us, from Yunus, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl, from his father, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: Let none of you say that my soul has become wicked. Rather, let him say that my soul has become disinclined. Uqayl also transmitted it.
