Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَيَّاشُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ تُسَمُّوا الْعِنَبَ الْكَرْمَ، وَلاَ تَقُولُوا خَيْبَةَ الدَّهْرِ. فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الدَّهْرُ ".
Translation
Ayyash ibn al-Walid narrated to us: Abd al-Ala narrated to us: Mamar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: Do not call grapes al-karm, and do not say, ‘What a disappointment, Time!’ For Allah is the Turner of time.
