Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَأَيْتَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ مَاتَ صَغِيرًا، وَلَوْ قُضِيَ أَنْ يَكُونَ بَعْدَ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيٌّ عَاشَ ابْنُهُ، وَلَكِنْ لاَ نَبِيَّ بَعْدَهُ.
Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us: Ismail narrated to us. I said to Ibn Abi Awfa, ‘Did you see Ibrahim, the son of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?’ He replied, ‘He died when he was young. Had it been decreed that a prophet would come after Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, his son would have lived. But there is no prophet after him.’
