Sahih al-Bukhari 6216

Musaddad narrated to us: Yahya narrated to us, from Uthman ibn Ghiyath: Abu Uthman narrated to us, from Abu Musa, who said: He was with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in one of the gardens of Medina. The Prophet had a stick in his hand with which he was stirring water and mud. A man came asking permission to enter. The Prophet said, ‘Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of Paradise.’ I went and found Abu Bakr, so I opened for him and gave him the glad tidings of Paradise. Then another man asked permission. He said, ‘Open the gate for him and give him the glad tidings of Paradise.’ It was Umar, so I opened for him and gave him the glad tidings of Paradise. Then another man asked permission. The Prophet had been reclining, but sat up and said, ‘Open for him and give him the glad tidings of Paradise, despite an affliction that will befall him—or that will occur.’ I went and found Uthman. I opened for him and gave him the glad tidings of Paradise, then told him what the Prophet had said. He said, ‘Allah is the One whose help is sought.’
