Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ صُهْبَانَ الأَزْدِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ، قَالَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْخَذْفِ وَقَالَ " إِنَّهُ لاَ يَقْتُلُ الصَّيْدَ، وَلاَ يَنْكَأُ الْعَدُوَّ، وَإِنَّهُ يَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ، وَيَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ ".
Translation
Adam narrated to us: Shubah narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said: I heard Uqbah ibn Suhban al-Azdi relate from Abdullah ibn Mughaffal al-Muzani, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade flicking pebbles and said, ‘It neither kills game nor injures an enemy, but it can put out an eye and break a tooth.’
