Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ عَطَسَ رَجُلاَنِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَشَمَّتَ أَحَدَهُمَا وَلَمْ يُشَمِّتِ الآخَرَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ " هَذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ، وَهَذَا لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ ".
Translation
Muhammad ibn Kathir narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us: Sulayman narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: Two men sneezed in the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. He invoked Allah’s mercy upon one of them but not the other. He was asked about it and said, ‘This one praised Allah, while that one did not.’
