Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales. and do not look for the others' faults, and do not do spying on one another, and do not practice Najsh, and do not be jealous of one another and do not hate one another, and do not desert (stop talking to) one another. And O, Allah's worshipers! Be brothers!"

Prohibition of Suspicion (Tuhmah)
The Prophet (ﷺ) begins by warning against suspicion, describing it as "the worst of false tales" because it originates in the heart without evidence and leads to false judgments about Muslims. Scholars explain that suspicion becomes forbidden when acted upon without verification.
Forbidden Social Practices
"Do not look for others' faults" means concealing rather than exposing Muslims' shortcomings. "Do not spy" prohibits seeking out what others have hidden. "Do not practice Najsh" refers to artificially inflating prices in auctions without intent to purchase.
Spiritual Diseases of the Heart
Jealousy (Hasad) occurs when one wishes for another's blessings to disappear. Hatred (Bughd) creates division in the community. Desertion (Hijran) means cutting off relations with a Muslim for more than three days without legitimate religious cause.
The Ultimate Command: Brotherhood
The concluding command "Be brothers!" establishes the foundation of Islamic society. Scholars emphasize this brotherhood encompasses rights and responsibilities, requiring Muslims to maintain hearts free from these prohibited traits and to actively preserve communal harmony.
