Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr narrated to us: Muʿtamir narrated to us, from ʿUbayd Allāh, from Nāfiʿ, who heard Ibn Kaʿb ibn Mālik inform Ibn ʿUmar that his father had told him: “A young woman belonging to us used to graze sheep at Salʿ. She saw that one of her sheep was dying, so she broke a stone and slaughtered it with it. He said to his family, ‘Do not eat it until I go to the Prophet ﷺ and ask him—or send someone to ask him.’ He went to the Prophet ﷺ, or sent someone to him, and the Prophet ﷺ instructed that it be eaten.”
