Ismāʿīl narrated to us, saying: Mālik narrated to me, from Nāfiʿ, from a man of the Anṣār, from Muʿādh ibn Saʿd—or Saʿd ibn Muʿādh—who informed him that a young woman belonging to Kaʿb ibn Mālik used to graze sheep at Salʿ. One of them was injured, and she reached it and slaughtered it with a stone. The Prophet ﷺ was asked about it and said: “Eat it.”
