Translation

Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Jarir narrated to us, from Mansur, from Abu Wa'il, who said: 'Abd Allah used to remind the people every Thursday. A man said to him: ‘Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, I wish you would remind us every day.’ He replied: ‘What prevents me from doing so is that I dislike making you weary. I choose suitable times to admonish you, just as the Prophet (ﷺ) used to choose suitable times to admonish us, for fear that we might become weary.’
