“Cut off the hand of the thief, male or female…”
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَقَطَعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي مِجَنٍّ ثَمَنُهُ ثَلاَثَةُ دَرَاهِمَ.
Translation
Narrated Ibn `Umar
The Prophet (ﷺ) cut off the hand of a thief for stealing a shield that was worth three Dirhams.
