Unmarried should be flogged and exiled
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلمقَضَى فِيمَنْ زَنَى وَلَمْ يُحْصَنْ بِنَفْىِ عَامٍ بِإِقَامَةِ الْحَدِّ عَلَيْهِ.
Translation
Narrated Abu Huraira
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) judged that the unmarried person who was guilty of illegal sexual intercourse be exiled for one year and receive the legal punishment (i.e., be flogged with one-hundred stripes) .
