حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ هُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ، جَزَّءُوهُ أَجْزَاءً، فَآمَنُوا بِبَعْضِهِ وَكَفَرُوا بِبَعْضِهِ. {يَعْنِي قَوْلَ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى {الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ }
Translation
Ziyad ibn Ayyub narrated to me: Hushaim narrated to us: Abu Bishr informed us, from Saʿid ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: “They are the People of the Book: they divided it into portions, believing in some of it and disbelieving in some of it.” He meant the words of Allah, Exalted is He: “Those who have divided the Quran into fragments.”
