Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَهْلٍ، قَالَ جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ نَحْفِرُ الْخَنْدَقَ وَنَنْقُلُ التُّرَابَ عَلَى أَكْتَادِنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " اللَّهُمَّ لاَ عَيْشَ إِلاَّ عَيْشُ الآخِرَهْ فَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنْصَارِ ".
Translation
Muhammad ibn ʿUbaydullah narrated to me: Ibn Abi Hazim narrated to us, from his father, from Sahl, who said: The Messenger of Allah came to us while we were digging the Trench and carrying earth on our shoulders. The Messenger of Allah said, “O Allah, there is no life but the life of the Hereafter; forgive the Emigrants and the Helpers.”
