Sahih al-Bukhari 5643
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَالْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُفَيِّئُهَا الرِّيحُ مَرَّةً، وَتَعْدِلُهَا مَرَّةً، وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَالأَرْزَةِ لاَ تَزَالُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَةً " . وَقَالَ زَكَرِيَّاءُ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، كَعْبٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Musaddad narrated to us: Yaḥyā narrated to us, from Sufyān, from Saʿd, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kaʿb, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “The believer is like a tender plant: the wind bends it one time and sets it upright another. The hypocrite is like a cedar tree: it remains standing until it is uprooted all at once.”
Zakariyyā said: Saʿd narrated to me: Ibn Kaʿb narrated to us, from his father, Kaʿb, from the Prophet ﷺ.
