Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Adam and Moses met. Moses said to Adam, ‘You are the one who made people wretched and expelled them from Paradise.’ Adam replied, ‘You are Moses, whom Allah chose for His message and selected for Himself, and to whom He sent down the Torah.’ He said, ‘Yes.’ Adam asked, ‘Did you find it written against me before He created me?’ He said, ‘Yes.’” Thus Adam prevailed over Moses in the argument. (The word al-yamm means “the sea.”)
