Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، رضى الله عنه قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَا يَنْبَغِي لأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَكُونَ خَيْرًا مِنِ ابْنِ مَتَّى ".
Translation
Qutayba ibn Saʿid narrated to us: Jarir narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Abu Waʾil, from ʿAbdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “No one ought to be regarded as better than Ibn Matta.”
