Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَىٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رضى الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى فَقَدْ كَذَبَ ".
Translation
Ibrahim ibn al-Mundhir related to me: Muhammad ibn Fulayh related to us, saying: My father related to me, from Hilal ibn Ali, of Banu Amir ibn Lu'ayy, from Ata ibn Yasar, from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Whoever says, 'I am better than Yunus ibn Matta,' has lied."
