Translation

Mahmud related to me; Ubayd Allah related to us, from Israil, from Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Alqama, from Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when Surat al-Mursalat was revealed to him, and we were receiving it directly from his mouth. A snake came out, and we rushed toward it, but it outran us and entered its hole. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘It was protected from your harm, just as you were protected from its harm.’
