Translation

Qutayba related to us; Jarir related to us, from al-Amash, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, who said: Abdullah said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a cave, Surat al-Mursalat was revealed to him, and we received it directly from his mouth, while his mouth was still moist with it. Just then, a snake came out. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Go and kill it!’ We rushed toward it, but it outran us. He said, ‘It was protected from your harm, just as you were protected from its harm.’
