Sahih al-Bukhari
Sahih al-Bukhari 4950
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبَ بْنَ سُفْيَانَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ يَقُمْ لَيْلَتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا، فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ شَيْطَانُكَ قَدْ تَرَكَكَ، لَمْ أَرَهُ قَرِبَكَ مُنْذُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا. فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَالضُّحَى * وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى * مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى}
Ahmad ibn Yunus related to us; Zuhayr related to us; al-Aswad ibn Qays related to us, saying: I heard Jundub ibn Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill and did not rise during the night for two or three nights. A woman came and said, ‘O Muhammad, I hope your devil has abandoned you; I have not seen him come near you for two or three nights.’ Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: ‘By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still: your Lord has neither forsaken you nor detested you.’
